Preventive Medicine
Everyone has heard the phrase “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and nowhere is that more accurate than in Veterinary Medicine, where our patients can’t tell us when they feel sick. At airport Pet Clinic, we are strong believers in the powers of prevention, and it is the cornerstone of our medical philosophy. The most important part of an excellent preventive program is the annual physical exam. Your pet cannot tell you when something is wrong, and many of the changes that occur with the onset of disease can best be discovered by a thorough physical. Frequently, the findings from these exams suggest certain diseases that can be identified with subsequent testing, and many of these diseases are best treated when found in the early stages. Another key element to a preventive program is appropriate vaccination. We routinely examine pets who are very ill with diseases (like parvovirus and feline leukemia) that can be prevented with proper vaccination.
Drop-Off Exams
We know how hectic your day can be, so we developed a way to make having your pet examined easier. All you need to do is make a drop-off appointment, and our receptionists will take any necessary information for the doctors. This allows for early-morning drop-offs and gives clients and doctors flexibility in their schedules. We routinely perform physical exams, vaccinations, blood testing and many other services by the drop-off method. In the event that a patient is ill and requires further testing and/or hospitalization, we contact you to explain the situation and discuss treatment options. Drop-off exams provide all of the benefits of veterinary care without disrupting your busy schedule!
